Prior to being placed in charter, this already extraordinary vessel
underwent an extensive refit to ensure that your Caribbean home is
among the most comfortable and luxurious sixty footers afloat.
The Sailing Charter Dreamwalker is, however, more than a beautiful yacht. She is the
Mercedes of sailing ships built and maintained in the finest traditions
of the sea. When you sail the Dreamwalker, you are sailing a bit of
nautical history ! |

Dreamwalker’s
classic lines can be traced to the legendary Herreshoffs of Bristol.
Indeed, her fiberglass hull is modeled after L. Frances Herreshoff’s
1931 design for Tioga I. Tioga I, in turn, was the precursor to (and a
smaller version of) Tioga II, better know as Ticonderoga.
The Ticonderoga is, simply,
the world’s most famous sailing vessel: She has won more races and
aesthetic awards than any yacht in history.
In
1972 New Zealand Naval Architect, Alan Orams, drew up plans for a modern
version of Tioga I. By 1974 the hull had been laid-up, and John
Sowerby (who was just beginning his now famous career) was hired to
finish the vessel.
Realizing that the
Dreamwalker was no ordinary yacht, Sowerby hand-crafted classic, wooden
frameworks, decks and cabins inside the fiberglass hull.
His care and craftsmanship are evident throughout the vessel. |
